These are troubled times in which we live and so many are looking for “perfect peace” because seriously, our health and wellness depend on it. We’ve tried exercise, music, deep breathing, pets, self love, meditation and even comfort foods to soothe the anxiety and fear that we feel today. Yet we still can’t find that illusive perfect peace.
We know that fear creates illness, hopelessness and even death, but today is different…today is a day to encourage our fellow man! This is not my typical post, but today I feel the need to shed light on the hope that we can have.
Where Do We Look For Peace?
We know that words sometimes can be vacant, hollow and meaningless, especially in a world where it seems everyone is shouting. So do you wonder where we can go to find peace when it looks like it is no where to be found?
Sure, we can make progress towards peace ourselves, but will it last or does it fill the quiet, empty void we still feel? And can one person, group or side actually bring us this peace? WHERE can we find this hope and lasting peace?
These things of which we speak, are big questions that frankly have been asked since the beginning of time. That’s why we must go to a book written more than 2,000 years ago; words that have survived much longer than you or I will ever on this earth. Maybe, just maybe they really do have meaning.
In the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 26 it says…
2 Open the gates
that the righteous nation may enter,
the nation that keeps faith.
3 You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
4 Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
Finding Real Peace
It seems that the answer might not be in us at all, but rather in this Good Book. A righteous nation, he that keeps faith…they will be the ones kept in perfect peace…their minds will be steadfast (and hopeful) because they trust in God Himself.
There is no one person on this earth that can bring this kind of peace…peace that is lasting. Maybe we should stop looking for someone or something here on this earth and start looking above?
You would not be normal if you didn’t fear, but someone bigger than us who is righteous all the time is actually in charge. He knows the future and more importantly, He knows you.
Maybe it’s time to believe again, to hope not in your own efforts, but in the one who actually made you? Maybe that perfect peace that you seek doesn’t really cost you anything except a little faith.

The words you speak regarding God being our only real peace is truth. Thanks
