Can we stop autoimmune disease? Autoimmune disease is a condition that arises when there is an abnormal immune response to a normal body part in which the body makes auto-antibodies that attack normal cells by mistake. Most doctors believe that autoimmune disease is incurable, but could we actually have the answer to fight this disease?
There are at least 80 or more types of autoimmune diseases and it is estimated that close to 7% of the population has autoimmune dysfunction. Autoimmune diseases include: lupus, graves, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma and diabetes mellitus type 1.
AUTOIMMUNE RESEARCH
According to this very interesting study, Halofuginone and other febrifugine derivatives inhibit prolyl-tRNA synthetase, halofuginone is a derivative of febrifugine, which is a natural quinazolinone alkaloid, and it has been found to “inhibit the development of TH17-driven autoimmunity in a mouse model of multiple sclerosis by activating the amino acid response pathway.”
What does this mean? Halofuginone halts the production of proline which is a specific amino acid, and in turn inhibits the production of bad rogue T-cells. In other words, this chemical may stop the immune response in patients who have been diagnosed with autoimmune disease. This is great news for people who have autoimmune disease, because now there is something that may prove to be able to combat these horrible diseases!
SO WHAT IS HALOFUGINONE?
Believe it or not, halofuginone is an ancient herb or root of a plant that most of us are familiar with… the hydrangea plant and specifically the blue evergreen hydrangea. Hydrangeas are beautiful flowering plants and the chemical halofuginone has shown promise in both animal and human clinical trials and specifically when it comes to a reduction of inflammation in the body. According to Tracy Keller and her colleagues at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, with the use of this root, “animals that receive only just adequate nutrition are known to live longer because diseases which involve inflammation are prevented.”
Important to note: Halofuginone has been in multiple clinical trials; however, because it is now in the public domain, the pharmaceutical industry is not currently interested in developing it for therapeutic purposes.
OTHER USES
Hydrangea has been used in Chinese medicine for urinary tract, bladder and kidneys infections for centuries and used by the Cherokee Indians for calculous diseases (stone formation and deposits). New research is also being conducted for other beneficial uses of hydrangea root which includes the reduction of fibrosis or benign tumors in connective tissue; and there is evidence that halofuginone lessens osteoarthritis as well as inhibits colorectal cancer growth.
Let’s stop autoimmune disease today!!

Dear Christina,
Thank you for your article speaking to an increasingly major concern of Americans – auto-immune diseases.
We have seen great improvements in all kinds of health challenges including auto-immune, when you get to the root cause of the issue and that is cell health. By giving the body what it needs at the cellular level, God gave the body immense power to heal itself. By improving nutrition and oxygen levels by approximately 30% and increasing removal of wastes and toxins, the body amazingly wakes up the doctor from within.
If the cell is not getting what it needs it sets up the inflammatory cascading effect turning a sick cell into sick tissues, then organs and systems. Make the cell healthy again and reverse that cascading effect which impacts health holistically. We have a medical device that has a patented signal that speaks to the cell and circulation, enhancing blood flow and many other aspects of health.
