Consumers are becoming more aware everyday that the chemicals we use on our bodies may not be good for our health. Can these chemicals have a negative cumulative effect as well? Many of us are voting with our pocketbook because we sense that indeed something is wrong! The organic and natural personal care products market is exploding because people just want to be healthier.
Hexa Research says that the global personal care product market is expected to reach $650 billion by 2024 with the global organic personal care market size estimated to be at 25.12 billion by 2024. “Inclination towards organic face creams, sunscreens, and body moisturizers among consumers is expected to positively affect the skincare segment during the forecast period. Changing customers outlook towards organic personal care products (i.e. skin, hair, oral care, etc.) combined with rising customer awareness is expected to add to the growth of the market over the coming years and is expected to positively affect the market.”
Why go organic?
Many personal care products contain to harmful contaminants in their ingredients. Hair dyes, fragrances, soaps, shampoos, cosmetics are all affected by these contaminants if they are not derived from truly natural ingredients. Anything that is labeled as a “fragrance” can contain tons of chemicals because they are not required to list them all. Cosmetics are poorly regulated and many are made from untested chemical and synthetic ingredients.
