Looking for a natural facial with the best beauty benefits? Look no further. If you want to cleanse, detox, hydrate and nourish your face for a healthy and more beautiful face, then this all-in-one natural facial DIY 3 Step Botanical Facial is for you!
A beauty routine that is natural is best. Natural makeup. Natural soap. Natural shampoo…You get the idea 🙂 Your skin will thank you and aging will be pushed back just a bit more than your bff. What you put in your mouth today will also make a difference in the way your skin looks tomorrow. Don’t believe me? Just look up the word “oxidation”.
3 Simple Steps to Beautiful
Before you begin…You will need some natural supplies. In the beginning it may cost a bit, but once you have what you need, you’ll have them for the next time.
Let’s round up what we need and do this fun thing!
- Since you will be doing a facial steam first, you will need dried botanicals (plant flowers, roots or stems). Mix together your favorites and put into a glass (not plastic) jar. You’ll have more than you need and can save what’s left for next time. {FYI – An 8 oz glass jar or 1.5 oz of product by weight is approximately 6 to 8 uses.} Here are some botanical favorites and suggestions: Calendula flowers, Chamomile Flowers, Comfrey Leaf, Cornflower, Dandelion root, Eucalyptus, Fennel, Hibiscus Flower, Hyssop, Jasmine Flowers, Lavender, Marigold, Melissa, Nettle, Peppermint Leaf, Rose Petals, Rosehip, Violet, Yarrow Leaf.*
- Rose water spray in a bottle
- Essential oil combination for beauty. My favs are pomegranate oil, frankincense, castor oil and vitamin E.
STEP 1 – Let’s Steam it Up for the Detox!
{It’s important to wash your face before you begin. If you are using your sink, make sure to clean it out thoroughly before use also. Remember that detoxing revives the skins, opens your sinuses, boosts circulation and can give a clearer complexion with a healthy glow.}
Blend into a large bowl about 3 tablespoons of the botanical blend into a large bowl or sink. Boil at least 3-4 cups of FILTERED water. You’ll be breathing this in, so clean water is important! Drape a towel over your head and sink to capture the steam that is coming off the botanicals. Be very careful not to burn yourself and remember the word “gentle heat” when doing this. Stay under the towel for as long as you can to purify your face and pores. When you are done, gently wipe the impurities from your skin.
STEP 2 – Seal the Deal
You’ve detoxed your face so it’s time to close those pores back up. What better way to do this but with natural rose water?! Rose water takes redness and inflammation from the skin. Did you know that some 3rd World countries use it to reduce fevers as well? Not only does rose water calm everything down, it seals the pores on the surface of your skin.
Side note: Be careful if you are making your own rose water. Make sure the roses you use do not have any sprayed chemicals on them, or you will be transferring it onto your own skin.
STEP 3 – Time to Hydrate Baby!
So you’ve detoxed your face, closed up the pores, and now for the last step…Hydrate that beautiful face of yours and replenish the nutrients. You’ll find the skin a bit dry, so re-hydration is vital to more youthful looking skin.
I love making my own beauty day oil. Is it oily? NO, not at all! You don’t need but a couple of drops either. Mix in a small glass bottle with dropper (no measurements required) of mostly castor oil. Add in 5 drops each of pomegranate and frankincense essential oils. These oils have been known for centuries and used for skin beautification of the wealthy. Lastly, add 10 drops of vitamin E to the mixture and then shake well. Apply several drops in your hands and rub into your face. And that’s it!
Lastly, a good reminder is to drink a glass of water after your facial to replenish the water. Also, I do not recommend allowing the botanicals to drain down into your sink or eventually you”’ have a clogged sink.
So there you have it! You’ve now experienced a natural facial that is cheaper than you can get at the spa. Our recommendation is to treat yourself to one every once-in-a-while and soon you’ll notice the amazing changes to your skin…And you will ? it! Enjoy!!
