Have you ever heard of what I call “Life Saving Black Seed Oil” (black cumin) or Nigella Sativa? I never did, but what I found was again amazing. This is a fatty acid triglyceride and cold-pressed oil that has a long list of ailments that it can help remedy. Essential fatty acids, which are good by the way, includes linoleic and linolenic acids that are unsaturated molecules that cannot be produced by the body and must therefore be included in the diet.
This black cumin was reportedly found in ancient Egypt and recovered from King Tut’s tomb.
Black Seed Oil is said to be analgesic, anti-arthritic, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and an antioxidant. Even the US National Library of Medicine lists a number of publications on their research on Nigella Sativa. According to this other report, “Nigella sativa reverses osteoporosis in ovariectomized rats, which could be attributed to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids as well as its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.”
There is so much research that supports the use of Nigella Sativa. If you go here, you will find much more. Below is some of the research I found:
- Allergies/Asthma
- Anti-inflammatory
- Asthma, more
- Alzheimer’s
- Arthritis
- Bone marrow
- Cancer, anti-cancer drugs
- Chemical weapons exposure
- Colon cancer
- Diabetes
- Digestion/Gastric
- Epilepsy
- Heart, more
- Helicobacter Pylori
- High Blood Pressure
- Kidney
- Lactation
- Liver
- Lungs
- MRSA
- Radiation
- Tumors
- Opiate addiction and withdrawal
- Osteoporosis
- And more!
Not all black seed oils are created equally. Some brands work better than others. Fresh, cold-pressed, solvent free and packed and sealed by machine is preferred. It comes in oil or capsules. I would read the reviews carefully first. I always like to look on Amazon at their product reviews to see what other people are saying. There are over 200 reviews on Amazing Herbs’ oil of which 144 are 5 stars. Just to let you know, it’s not the best tasting. And as always, read the warning labels. Not for pregnant women.
